In Nepal, many women, especially from marginalized or economically disadvantaged communities, face significant barriers to accessing vocational skills, employment opportunities, and income-generating resources. These limitations not only restrict their ability to contribute financially to their families but also reduce their participation in community development and decision-making.

Recognizing these needs, Butterfly Help Project, Nepal (Putali Sahayog Yojana), in collaboration with Butterfly Help Project, Switzerland, and Autonomiser Foundation, France, initiated the “BHP–Women Empowerment in Nepal Initiative Project – 2025”. The project aims to equip women with vocational skills, provide employment opportunities, and promote national products, enabling them to gain financial independence and enhance their social participation.

The project targets women who are otherwise excluded from economic opportunities and provides them with the tools and guidance to improve their livelihoods. By linking training to real employment opportunities and supporting self-employment, the initiative strengthens women’s financial independence and social participation.

To ensure a comfortable and encouraging learning environment, two experienced female trainers were engaged. Their guidance enabled the trainees to learn confidently, ask questions freely, and practice their skills in a supportive setting. Additionally, a secure and well-prepared training venue was rented, offering a clean, well-lit, and conducive space that further promoted effective skill development and a positive learning experience for all participants.
